ESCAPE
INTO NATURE

It's amazing what nature can do for one’s wellbeing!

March 25th of 2021

Initially, I had seen the camp in pictures only. When I finally arrived it looked even more amazing! The atmosphere exudes a wonderful feeling of being off the grid. Far from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. But in actual fact it is a mere one hour drive from the nearest town, Hoedspruit. I arrived there fresh from the hectic day to day routine of city life and the well-planned world of work. I was immediately struck by the fascination of nature. It's amazing what nature can do for one’s wellbeing! I quickly realized how important it is that we need to do our utmost to protect nature and the animals in all its glory - they are so important to us humans.

On arriving at the camp, in holiday mode, the first thing I did was visit the beautiful wooden deck with a small swimming pool looking onto a waterhole.

I didn't have to wait long until the first impalas and zebras found their way down to the waterhole. Later an elephant, warthogs and kudu followed... I could’ve sat there for hours with this varied nature program. Way better than any nature television documentary! Even though I didn't get to see a lion during the day, I did hear lions roaring at night while drifting off to sleep in my cozy safari tent. There were countless other sounds too like the call of hyenas, frogs and crickets near the camp - The atmosphere was wonderfully indescribable and I couldn’t wait for the surprises the next day was sure to bring!

The small, intimate Isambane bush camp offers accommodation for 8 guests. A stay includes daily game drives and / or bush walks on request, breakfast, safari tea and dinner. This is all presented with an unobtrusive touch of warm hospitality from the Isambane team. There are also many other activities to choose from such as stargazing, sundowners on the mighty Olifants River, a library,  bush dinners etc. Excursions to the nearby Kruger National Park and boat cruises on the Olifants River are all within close proximity. Isambane bush camp will also offer walking trails in collaboration with a partner giving our guests the opportunity to enjoy the best of the Balule and the Timbavati Game Reserves on selected dates.

I am very happy and immensely grateful to have found this jewel in the African bush! As a land owner, I accept the huge responsibility to do all in my power to ensure these wild areas stay intact and remain accessible to future generations. Let nature’s wildness wash over you and cleanse your soul.
