As the intense heat of the mid-day sun dwindles, the animals are on the move again. Hungry and restless from sheltering in the shade, the bush once again becomes alive. Other than Game drives, Isambane Camp offers alternative activities to fully experience the South African Bush in all its beauty. In order to satisfy all guests requests it is necessary to pre-arrange and book prior to arrival.
With over 350 different species of birds occurring in the region, bird-lovers will not be disappointed. The Olifants River which runs through the center of the reserve attracts water-associated birds, whilst the magnificent fig trees growing alongside the river draw in our colourful fruit-eaters. The area is also excellent for raptors, including owls which can be seen on night drives.
Many people living in cities are prohibited from stargazing due to the contamination of light pollution. However, at Isambane you are able to observe the full beauty of the African night sky. Gaze in awe at the elegance of the stars as our experienced rangers use laser pointers to provide enlightening and entertaining commentary about our southern hemisphere constellations.
We are offering a package deal with Lowveld Trails who will take you on a guided walk through the bush, experiencing it in its rawest form. Have adrenaline pumping encounters with large mammals and surround yourself with the sounds of the bush, whilst also focusing on understanding the bush as nature intended it. If you are truly in love with nature, then this is the perfect activity for you.
All the outside camp extra activities have to be pre-booked at least 10 days prior to arrival for us to ensure availability and be able to arrange with the external companies.
